Wedding Stationery

Step 1

The order form will guide you through the specific details that are required for me to be able to work up your drafts. Don't worry that at this stage you may not yet know all the information (wording of the Orders of Service, numbers of Thank You cards, etc). In order for me to work up the first draft all you need to decide on is:

Your Choice of Design: click here to look through my designs.

The Colour Scheme: the colours of some of the designs are set, others are available in three colour options: Blues & Greens, Purple, Red and Pinks, or Multi-coloured (blue, green, purple, red and pale yellow). Design colours can be altered, perhaps to tie-in with your own colour scheme – a charge will be made to cover the re-colouring time, please contact me to discuss further.

Card Shape: there are four basic shapes for the main items, together with two smaller shapes for Reply & Thank You cards, and also sheets of Bridal Stationery – click here to see further details of my products.

Font: the wording examples show some of the more popular fonts, but I can use any font from the standard MS Suite. The text will be printed in a matching colour, but please note that for technical reasons I cannot print in black.

Wording (cover and inside): various suggested wordings for the invites are included but you are of course welcome to use your own wording – it all goes towards making your wedding stationery personal and unique!

If possible, it would also be helpful if you could indicate which items you are thinking of and the likely quantities.

Changes to existing designs and new designs

There would be an additional charge for significant alterations to existing designs (including changes to colours) – please email me for information, but as an example, re-colouring a simple design would start at £10.

Should you be interested in a new design made to your own specification, a separate charge to cover my time would also be made. The price of a new design is likely to be around £100 – £200, depending on its complexity. Please note that after an initial draft has been agreed, an estimate will be provided, and a 50% payment expected in advance. The 50% payment will be non-refundable, regardless of whether or not the final new design is used. If the final design is used, the balance of the new design fee will be added to the overall invoice. The copyright of the design will remain the sole property of Venus is a Cat, and cannot be used or reproduced by anyone else.

Step 2

Submit your Order Form, including at least the following information: your chosen design, colours, card size, font and wording for the invitations (and any other items you are ready to order).

The wedding invites (and evening invites if required) are usually completed sometime before details of the other items (eg Orders of Service, Menus, Name place cards, etc) have been finalised. The style of the other items will follow that of the invites, and drafts for these items will be provided in due course.

Step 3

I will send you draft layouts for your approval, based on the information supplied.

Step 4

Return the initial drafts to me, with any amendments or alterations clearly marked. Please note - one draft for each item will be provided free of charge. Any subsequent drafts that are required as a result of substantial changes or amendments will be charged at £10 per draft.

Once the drafts for the first items have been finalised, an invoice for those items will be raised, and once payment has been received, they will be printed and despatched as soon as possible.

I hope all this is clear, but please do not hesitate to email me at cathy@venus-is-a-cat.co.uk, if you have any queries or suggestions.
